Introduction to Balanced Healing

Meet Tania

At Balanced Healing, you will work with Tania Wolfson, a Kinesiology Association authorised practitioner with a lifelong passion to help others.

Body's natural wisdom

By understanding how physical, emotional, and energetic factors can affect well-being, kinesiology taps into the body’s natural wisdom to guide us toward effective, personalised treatments.

What is Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a gentle, non-invasive approach that uses muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body.

More about Tania

Tania’s dedication to holistic wellness and her deep understanding of kinesiology create a compassionate, insightful environment for each client.

Hi, I’m Tania — a wife, mother of four, and a registered Kinesiologist with the Kinesiology Association.

I was born in South Africa, raised in Zimbabwe, completed my secondary education back in South Africa, and later pursued tertiary studies in the United Kingdom, where I lived for 15 years. During our time in London, my husband and I both worked in the financial industry, but after the birth of our first child, we decided to relocate to Cape Town in search of a more balanced lifestyle.

It was in Cape Town that I was introduced to the transformative power of kinesiology. Initially seeking support for emotional challenges, but quickly discovered how deeply interconnected our emotional, physical, nutritional, and energetic systems truly are. Experiencing a therapy that didn’t just treat symptoms but worked to uncover and address the root cause of imbalance was a revelation — my first session was a lightbulb moment. I knew I had found my calling, but with four young children, this dream had to wait a while.

In 2021, our family returned to the UK, and I finally had the time and headspace to pursue this passion. I began studying kinesiology in 2022 with the Kinesiology Association, starting with the Foundation course, followed by the Diploma course in 2023, and became a fully qualified kinesiologist by the end of 2024. In November of the same year, I expanded my knowledge by completing a specialist course in Retained Primitive Reflexes.

Whether you’re looking for emotional clarity, physical relief, or overall well-being, I’d be honoured to support you on your journey to greater vitality and balance.

What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a gentle, holistic, and non-invasive therapy that draws on both Eastern and Western healing principles. It was developed by American chiropractor Dr. George Goodheart, who observed that many of his patients were returning with the same issues, despite treatment. This led him to explore the deeper connections between physical symptoms and underlying emotional, biochemical, and energetic imbalances — and so the practice of kinesiology was born.

Using muscle testing to identify stress and imbalances in the body, kinesiology employs a range of corrective techniques that have been specifically developed to not only relieve symptoms but to address the root cause. By working through the layers of dis-ease — one layer at a time and in order of priority — the body is supported in restoring balance, function, and overall well-being in a natural and sustainable way.

Kinesiology treats the whole person, considering physical, biochemical, emotional, and energetic factors to create a truly integrated approach to health.

What conditions can kinesiology help with?

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Fatigue or low energy
  • Digestive issues
  • Chronic pain and muscle tension
  • Postural imbalances
  • Injury recovery and rehabilitation
  • Learning difficulties and concentration
  • Emotional blocks and trauma release
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Allergies and sensitivities
  • Sleep problems
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Immune system support
  • Movement and coordination issues
  • Overall wellbeing and resilience

What techniques or methods do you use?

Kinesiology uses a wide range of gentle, non-invasive techniques to help bring your body back into balance. Based on what shows up through muscle testing, we may use methods such as:

  • Acupressure points
  • Emotional stress release techniques
  • Nutritional or lifestyle guidance
  • Chakra or energy balancing
  • Gentle structural corrections or movement-based support
  • Affirmations or visualisation techniques
  • Meridian tracing or stimulation
  • Sound, colour, or flower essence support

Each session is uniquely tailored to your individual needs, and nothing is ever forced, uncomfortable, or done without your full consent. The techniques used work in harmony to support healing on all levels — physical, emotional, biochemical, and energetic.

Retained Primitive Reflexes

Did you know that some of the physical, emotional, or behavioural challenges you—or your child—may be experiencing could be linked to early reflexes that never fully integrated?

Primitive reflexes (also known as primary reflexes) are automatic, instinctive movements that develop in the womb and are present at birth. They help with survival, bonding, and early development. These reflexes are meant to naturally fade away—typically by the age of two—as the nervous system matures and higher brain functions take over.

But sometimes, that doesn’t happen.

When these reflexes remain active beyond infancy, they can quietly interfere with the way we move, learn, process information, and respond to the world around us. This can affect children and adults alike—often without anyone realising the root cause.

Treatment & Approach

What should I expect during my first session?

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll start with a chat about your health history, lifestyle, and what’s bringing you in. From there, I’ll use gentle muscle testing to identify any imbalances in your physical, emotional, biochemical, or energetic systems.

You’ll remain fully clothed and relaxed throughout the session while we work with various techniques—like acupressure, gentle corrections, or emotional stress release—to support your body’s natural healing.

Most people leave feeling lighter, more balanced, and with a clearer sense of what their body needs. It’s a safe, supportive space—no pressure, just listening to what your body is telling us.

Her approach is calm, intuitive, and full of care – she creates a space where I feel completely safe and supported. Tania has a real gift. Whether I’ve been dealing with physical tension, emotional overwhelm, or just feeling a bit out of sync, she always seems to know exactly what’s needed. Her knowledge and instinct work hand in hand, and I come away from each session feeling more grounded, lighter, and more myself. If you're curious about kinesiology or feel like something’s just not quite sitting right, I wholeheartedly recommend Tania. She’s brilliant – truly."

"I felt completely at ease with Tania and found her to be someone I could genuinely trust with personal and sensitive information. Her approach is intuitive, and she has a real ability to get to the heart of the issue with a calm, supportive presence. She is knowledgeable, empathetic, and never judgemental, which made each session feel both safe and deeply effective. I always left feeling noticeably better—lighter, more balanced, and understood. I would absolutely recommend Tania to anyone seeking kinesiology support."

KC

As soon as Tania’s hands met with my forehead and stomach I felt grounded and had absolute faith in what she was going to test and suggest. Kinesiology is new to me so I had to idea what to expect. I feel absolutely amazed about the process. Tania gave me lots to think about during and after the initial session, very much putting me and my needs (including ones I hadn’t thought of) in the centre. I feel as if I have lots to think about yet lighter within my mind. After leaving Tania’s yesterday I drank water with purpose and have skipped the artificial sweetener and squash this morning. I look forward to my next session and the guidance that Tania and Kinesology will bring.

Key Features

FAQs

Anyone looking to improve their overall health, manage stress, or gain more balance in their life can benefit from kinesiology. It’s suitable for people of all ages—from infants to seniors—and can support a wide range of needs, whether you're dealing with physical pain, emotional challenges, fatigue, or simply feel “off” and want to feel more like yourself again. Kinesiology is also great for those who are proactive about their wellbeing and want to maintain good health before issues arise.

Yes, kinesiology is a gentle, non-invasive and holistic therapy that is safe for people of all ages. It supports the body’s natural ability to heal and find balance, working with what’s already there rather than forcing change.

It’s important to know that kinesiologists do not diagnose medical conditions or treat specific illnesses. If anything arises during your session that may require medical attention, I will always refer you to your GP or another qualified health professional.

Kinesiology works beautifully alongside conventional care and can be a valuable part of your overall wellness plan.

Most people feel relaxed, lighter, or more balanced after a session. However, because kinesiology works with the body’s natural healing processes, it’s possible to feel a little tired, emotional, or experience mild physical soreness as your body adjusts—especially if we’ve worked on deeper stress patterns.

This is completely normal and usually passes within a day or two. Drinking plenty of water, resting, and listening to your body can help the integration process.

A doctor’s referral is not necessary.

Everyone’s journey is different, so the number of sessions can vary depending on your individual needs and goals. Some people feel a noticeable shift after just one session, while others benefit from a series of appointments to support deeper or ongoing issues.

Yes, absolutely! Kinesiology is a safe, gentle, and non-invasive approach that’s suitable for people of all ages—including children, teens, and seniors.

Each session is tailored to the individual, so the techniques used are always age-appropriate and respectful of where they’re at physically and emotionally.

For children, it can help with things like learning difficulties, anxiety, sleep issues, and emotional regulation.

For older adults, it can support mobility, balance, memory, and overall wellbeing.

Kinesiology can also be safely and effectively used with babies. Because babies can't be muscle tested directly, I use gentle surrogate testing—often through a parent or caregiver—to identify any imbalances and guide the session. It can be especially helpful for concerns like unsettled sleep, feeding difficulties, colic, digestive issues, or emotional stress around birth. Sessions are always calm, non-invasive, and tailored to your baby’s comfort and needs. Parents often find it’s not only supportive for their little one, but also brings a sense of reassurance and connection for the whole family.

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so I can offer the space to someone else.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be charged the full session fee.

I understand that unexpected things can come up, and I always aim to be as understanding as possible—thank you for respecting this policy and the time we set aside for your care.

Yes, online/virtual sessions are performed using a surrogate.

Comfort is key! Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily—like what you'd wear to a yoga or casual exercise class. You'll remain fully clothed during the session, so there's no need to change or bring anything special.

Avoid wearing anything too restrictive or with lots of metal (like big belts or heavy jewellery), as it can sometimes interfere with muscle testing.

If you are wearing a dress or skirt, I would recommend bringing some leggings for your comfort.

Yes, I am insured with Balens.

You will need to check with your private medical scheme as some do and some don’t.

Payment can be made via EFT prior to the session or in cash on the day.  Please note that I do not have a card machine at present.
